2. What data we process
Depending on how you use the website, we may process contact details, enquiry content, preferred yacht, preferred week, crew size, sailing experience, route ideas, feedback ratings, review text, booking references, discount or referral codes, technical server log data, aggregated website usage data and consent records.
3. Website access and server logs
When you access the website, technical data such as IP address, time of access, requested page, browser, operating system and referrer may be processed by the hosting environment to deliver the website securely and reliably. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure website.
4. Website analytics with Independent Analytics
We use the WordPress plugin Independent Analytics to understand how the website is used and which pages, yachts, Marinas and Regions are relevant to visitors. The analysis may include page views, visitor and session counts, approximate geographic information, device and browser information, referrers, landing and exit pages and engagement metrics.
Independent Analytics runs on our own WordPress installation. According to the provider, it does not use tracking cookies, does not transmit analytics data to external analytics servers and stores the resulting analytics data in our WordPress database. A repeat-visitor identifier is generated from the IP address and browser user-agent information; the IP address itself is not stored by the analytics plugin. Logged-in users are excluded from our analytics. Analytics records are automatically deleted after 24 months.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR and, where applicable, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is to assess the reach and usability of Sailvero, improve content and enquiry paths and understand which yacht and sailing information visitors find useful. The analytics data is not used to build advertising profiles or combined with enquiry, booking or feedback data to identify individual visitors.
5. Contact forms and yacht enquiries
When you submit a contact form or yacht request, we process the information you provide in order to answer the enquiry, prepare a charter conversation, check availability and coordinate the next steps. The legal basis is pre-contractual communication and, where applicable, performance of a contract.
6. Booking, availability and direct charter communication
Availability information and request data may be processed together with yacht, week, crew and contact information so that we can respond to direct booking requests. We do not publish personal booking data on the website. Public prices, if shown, are limited to future available weeks.
7. Feedback, QR codes and public reviews
Guests may submit feedback through onboard QR codes or follow-up messages. We use this feedback to improve yacht descriptions, maintenance priorities, owner conversations and future guest information. A public review is shown only when the review source and publication settings allow it. Contact details are not intended to be published as part of a public review.
8. Newsletter, route ideas and follow-up messages
If you consent to receive updates, we may use your email address for yacht availability, route ideas, direct booking information or similar sailing-related communication. You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.
9. Cookies and local storage
The website may use technically necessary cookies or local storage for security, form handling, consent records or basic website functions. Independent Analytics itself is operated without tracking cookies. Other analytics, marketing or third-party tracking will only be used if the relevant legal requirements, consent mechanisms and documentation have been implemented.
10. Recipients and processors
Personal data may be processed by technical service providers such as hosting, email, website maintenance or booking-support systems. Where required, these providers are bound by data processing agreements. Data may also be shared with charter partners, yacht operators or Marinas only where this is necessary to answer or fulfil a specific enquiry.
11. Storage period
We store personal data only for as long as necessary for the relevant purpose, including enquiry handling, charter communication, legal retention duties, claims handling, feedback evaluation and improvement of yacht information. Independent Analytics records are automatically deleted after 24 months.
12. Your rights
You may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability and objection to processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. You may object at any time to processing based on our legitimate interests where the legal requirements are met.
13. Right to lodge a complaint
You may lodge a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority. For Berlin, the competent authority is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
14. Security
We use organisational and technical measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse and alteration. No internet-based transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy when the website, plugins, forms, feedback processes or legal requirements change.
